Vincent Andrews was born in Wichita, Kansas, where he spent the first 26 years
of his life living and searching for a place within the GBLT community.
Andrews discovered his desire for leather in his early twenties. After hiding
his desires from his loved ones and partners for some time, he finally gave in
and decided to embrace his desires. Since that time he has dedicated his time
and volunteered his services to a broad range of projects. In 2002 he
coordinated the first Wichita Leather Pride weekend with Heart of America
Leatherwoman 2002, Cindy Sapp.
During this same time he and other men of similar interests in leather and kink
pulled together to form an organization that could provide others in the same
position with the opportunity to meet people of like interests. In August of
2002, W.O.O.L.F. (Wichita Organization of Leather Fetishes) was formed. Andrews
held the position of publicist within W.O.O.L.F., focusing on promoting and
growing the organization and the community. He contributed the design of the
club colors and co-produced the events, along with designing most of their
graphics. In the fall of 2002 he competed for and won the title of Kansas boy
Leather 2003, the first year this title was awarded.
In 2003 boy vince moved to Kansas City and became part of the community there.
He joined the KC boys of Leather and restructured and rewrote the bylaws of the
club to help revitalize and strengthen it within the community. He was elected
President of the KC boys for this work, and during his term as president he
played an active role in publicizing the group, He played an active role in
setting up functions the KC boys of Leather could use for raising money to give
to various charities. The fundraising opportunities he helped set up during his
presidency also assisted the club to continue their fundraising efforts once his
term was completed, and in the year 2005 the KC boys of Leather raised $4000.00.
During boy vince’s presidency the club became a viable resource for the overall
community, and was nominated for a Pantheon of Leather award in both 2005 and
2006. The KC boys of Leather won pantheon in 2006 for small club.
boy vince has helped various leather clubs throughout the country with their
diverse formation and structuring needs. He has helped with tasks such as
designing club logos, creating or revising by-laws, and creating and
distributing published media to publicize organizations and their events. boy
vince has participated in many educational leather classes across the Midwest,
and is known for being very passionate about education in the leather lifestyle.
He is currently a member of several local leather groups, and has served as
President of the National Leather Association – International, elected in 2006,
doing the same work he has become known for in the Midwest, only now on an
international level. He spent many years doing custom leather. He was the
creator of the IMsL sashes and Boot Black patches from 2005 through 2007, as
well as many other sashes and patches in the Midwest. |
The
leatherboy Handbook
by Vincent Andrews
Price: $19.95
Paperback: 184 pages
ISBN: 978-1-887895-67-5
In the past when a
potential leatherboy has asked me, where do I start I had to guide
them to a dozen publications and even then the information was
incomplete. Now the answer is simple, The leatherboy Handbook!
This book is a wonderful resource for anyone interested in the “boy
subculture”. Vincent Andrews draws on his own experiences
in the leather community as well as some of the best source material
available to create what will surely become the companion volume
to Larry Townsend’s Leatherman’s Handbook.
In a clear and concise voice with numerous references, “boy
vince” has created a goldmine for the budding leatherboy,
no matter what his gender. Most importantly, this book
explains much of the “why” behind the boy experience,
and that is the key to its value. I heartily recommend
this book for both boys and Daddys, subs and Doms. It is
a good read and a requisite for any leather/kink library. |
